Welcome to Devadasi

Creativity and community are two of my favorite passions. I've invited you here to see if you might like to give your creativity a boost by participating in this "Artist's Way" blog group idea that I've got.
"The Artist's Way - A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity" is a book written by Julia Cameron. It consists of a 12 week program that can help anyone increase creativity in any area of their life. You will need to purchase the book ($15.95, I think), and then, we'll all be working through it together week by week and using this blog to express our creativity as well as to support each other along the journey.
The target date to start the first week's theme - "Recovering a Sense of Safety" is, Friday, August 12th.
Each creative week will start on a Friday and end on a Thursday.
Get the book and read the Introduction and the first chapter "Spiritual Electricity - The Basic Principles". Start with week 1 on August 12th, work at your own pace and use this blog to communicate and contribute to the group energy to help keep yourself progressing and having fun!
You can get to this blog directly by typing www.devadasi.blogspot.com into your web browser.

If you want to make a post (as opposed to making a comment on an existing post) to this blog, you need to first create your own free blogspot blog. Email me at akpobome@sbcglobal.com with any questions or confusions you might have as to how this "Artist's Way" blog adventure will work.

Anonymous - give me your e-mail address it's not included in your post. Or, try to email me again at akpobome@sbcglobal.net - maybe your last e-mail got lost in the anti spam folder.

Janet- I emailed you again from my g-mail and not from my home address. I am on a large network so perhaps that is why my mail got crossed. I am interested in this project and would love a supportive group to participate with. Thanks.

Hi Anonymous,

I still don't have your e-mail address - when you e-mail from the blog the e-mail address is annoymous@blogger.com. So what is your home e-mail address?

Send an e-mail from your home computer e-mail software to me at akpobome@sbcglobal.net and then I can send you an invitation to join this blog at your home e-mail address as well as add your home e-mail address to the blog mailing list.

Ok Janet! Here I am! The invite worked! QUESTION: When should we post our remarks for the week? Will you be setting a time for that? Since we are going week by week - just wondering about people sharing feedback. Maybe you can be the first one to do that so I can follow. I know NOTHING about the artist's way process so I apologize for not being more "aware" on participating. Thank you so much!

Hi Dasi, Great to have you here. You can post a comment any time you want. Post your comments to the post of the week that they relate to. For example, I'm going to post a comment to the week #1 post above this one after I get done with this comment.

Love,
Janet

Janet! I saw your explanation above. OK. When done with WEEK 1 - I presume we all can post our comments or experience???? Or challenges? Or is there something particular we should share... I am sorry for asking so much, I just want to be able to participate effectively! And as mentioned, until this eve when I have this book in hand, I have NO PRIOR knowledge of the artist way process. So forgive me if I am being obtuse!

Best! and thx-

Hi Dasi,

Make a comment to Week 1 anytime - now, during or at the end of the Week 1.

Yes, tell us whatever you want to communicate - your experiences, your challenges, your successes, etc. It's all up to you to decide. There is no judgement here. It's all good as long as you are being supportive of all the others.

Love,
Janet

Hi Basil! Hi Janet!

Basil, I did not understand your question on the profile thing... Did you mean my own website or the profile that is shown here on blogger???

The profile I have here on blogger is simply using blogger "edit your profile" after you login to your account or login as a blog member here.

As for jitterbug perfume- YES! But I have a comment from a client that actually talks about that in the comments area of my site and the kind compliments they gave me were most appreciated.

Funny too you mention Women that Run with the wolfes- I did indeed buy that book - and lent it to a friend who is a wonderful artist that draws Indian Squaw women.

How curious you mentioned these things! Indeed I am familiar with them bost.

If I can help with something here just let me know! I am very pleased to give the Artist's Way process a try and am very appreciative of Janet's welcome and help. She is an amazing woman indeed!

Many blessings,
Dasi ~

Janet! I mailed you in response to this post you made above:

"Dasi is looking into setting up a free bulletin board for us that might work better for real time chatting and more social interaction than this blog format does."

I don't know if you got my mail so here it is 9:30pm and I thought just in case you didn't get it- I should post here to let you know we DO HAVE A FORUM! Yay! If you decide you wish to use it of course. :)

However, I need your help with certain things to wrap it all up- but it;s basically done and looks GREAT! (well I think so- sorry if it doesn't otherwise doh (laugh!))

Anyway - please mail me so I can send the links and details. I don't know how many participants there are here now so you will probably want to let them know and post the link for it when you are ready ok! So give me a mail!

Best!

Dasi
